An advantage to population growth is that it leads to a greater tax base (i.e more people in workforce increases amount of tax collected etc). This helps the governments to help fund pensions, public infrastructure etc.
This is why they are always talking about it at the moment, because we have had a decling population in australia for so long, the fear is that when all the baby boomers retire that the government will not be able to afford to pay pensions etc, as the tax base is not there.

well the adcantage is like someone siad that you can have industrial and bussiness growth but the current popualtion of the world is 6,000,000,000 people....thats a lot of food to consume and also we have to clear the forsest and stuff like that. Populaiotn gorwth odes have it's good sides, but the majority of them are bad.

Eh, from a biological standpoint a larger population has more diverse genes (probably). Diverse genes can be good when crazy diseases come along or when it is time to adapt.

more labor in industrial areas. better for the country's economy, when people is makeing more money.
