I had one very persistant ghost, when i was in my younger years 7 -13 seemed to be the ages i have seen this particular ghost.
I felt it was a man. and he would walk back and forth past my bedroom door, like on patrol.
Never setting a foot inside, but still i was so scared, (at the time i was scared of vampires) due to the midday sunday movie on the black and white tv.
so i always made sure my neck was covered, and the fear just swelled up inside of me till i fell asleep. I always wanted to ask who it was. but was so scared to do so, when the event came around.
I ended up really starting to wish to see this ghost more often in my teens, but he stopped showing. and i never found out.
i dont live with my parents any more.
and they never believed me when i told them for years there was a spirit outside my bedroom door. I will never forget him.
yes this is a real story.

There are those that require proof, or evidence, before they can justify the belief in ghosts and spirits. Maybe these people have never stood alone in the darkness and silence of a forbidding place. And maybe they have never trusted their own senses, that tell them they are not alone. I think it is very possible that people deny themselves and what their own mind and body tell them to be true, because they think it is safer with their eyes closed. I require less evidence for far more important things. Love, God, etc. Refusal to accept or believe in something, merely because one can't see it, or touch it, is scientifically archaic and unreasonable. Dark matter exists simply because it has gravity. The x factor in hydrogen exists, or the atom would fly apart. IMHO, it is the things that are measureless, that compel ones mind to reach into the void and the unknown, and grasp that which limited thinkers will never realise. Faith and belief in the other-side can only expand the mind, give better understanding, and spawn the thirst for greater knowledge. Do I have a ghost story? Many. And, with the exception of a few limited thinkers, most everyone does.

This is a true story involving my step-father. It was the day I was told he died and cried for a long time. When I lied down to take a nap something in my room startled me awake. I was scared because all i could see was a bright yellow light then white light. A hand touched me on my shoulder and it calmed me. In a soft voice I heard my Step-father tell me not to cry anymore, I am in a good place. Then the room came back into clear view and I felt less saddened. There have been to other spiritual/ghost like experiences that I have had dealing with him so far.

As we are human beings we are subject to human emotions and that you become emotional while speaking of the subject of ghosts is natural. It could be that you are experiencing a combination of a few emotions but fear and sadness are probably the dominant ones. It is common that we feel a connection to those who have past along and we can empathize with past loved ones . Though this feeling may not be at the forefront of your thoughts it can be subconscious. We can also feel a sense of our mortality when thinking on this subject as well. As we are not certain what lay just beyond this reality we can have anticipatory feelings and or angst towards the unknown. This as well may not be what you are associating with ghosts but it as well is subconscious. We also can have feelings of fear when we think of ghosts and ghostly activity and this is very common.as when you consider a ghost, you do not know why they exist or what exactly they are or what their intentions are. This consideration may be at the forethought of your considerations and yes, it can cause a response that will you to tear up. I get a little emotional sometimes too, it is very common. It just proves that you are a living ,caring human being. take care.

I used to live in a one-hundred year old house. My first roommate told me that every night (I worked nights at the time) he would hear a lady come down the stairs. He could hear her dress brushing against the bannister. He moved out, and I got a different roommate. One night, I was in the bathroom, getting ready for bed, and I felt someone pass behind me. I turned to ask my roommate what he was doing in the bathroom with me, but there was no one there. He actually saw the "white lady" as we called her on at least three occasions. The cats also responded to her. She appeared to walk through walls, but she was just following the original floor plan of the house.
