The Democrats have a large number of highly qualified people running or who may decide to run. I receive newsletters from several of the candidates so that I can make an informed choice.
Senator Obama's campaign is growing in strength, although it is far too early to predict who will be nominated by the Democratic Party. Since the Republicans have done a poor job for the past six years, and everything indicates they will continue with their mediocre performance, nearly any Democrat should be able to capture the White House.
In response to some other postings:
1) Arnold Schwarzenegger is not eligible to run for President, since he was born an Austrian citizen.
2) I do not believe for one minute that Hillary Clinton will choose Barack Obama as her running mate, or vice versa. She would not wish to be burdened with Obama's baggage, nor would she be willing to accept the number two spot after already living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
3) Condi Rice will not be a candidate for President in 2008 or any time after. She is not a politician, but an academic.

Condi Rice... first black person and first woman. Kill two birds with one stone, and you get someone in there that's smart as a whip and already has experience with foreign policy.
Other choice would be Barack Obama. Young, idealistic, and seemingly honest.
Not to mention if it was Condi versus Barak, no one could say that race is an issue in the voting. Everybody wins - except the bigots.

So far I have yet to see a viable candidate that I like from either side of the aisle. Hillary is just to plain scary. she is a socialist and if she gets her way with health care-hope you don't get sick. Look at the issues everywhere that socialized medicine is.
I hear a lot of screaming about getting out of Iraq, but no one is laying a plan on the table. Sorry folks, but you can't just walk away at this point. If you think the world hates us now-walking away will really get the world upset at us. That would be one huge disaster!

I think that Arnold Schwarzenegger should run for president with Mike Ditka (Ditka was considering running for some public office a few years ago) running as his vice president. Then Schwarzenegger could "terminate" the terrorists.
I hope Obama doesn't win...it's strange that his middle/last name is Hussein Obama. Reminds me of Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden. He may have some secrets that the public doesn't know about...and I don't think we need someone with that kind of name running the US right now.

Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!
Barak will win the Democratic nomination, but not the presidency because of his lack of any experience whatsoever.

Obama is charming and can woo a crowd. It would take him years to get up to speed--we do not have that much time. Hillary is sharp and knows exactly where to go to get what she wants.
