i want my ear pierced not eyebrow.. so which side

Surface Piercings-- like the eyebrow-- tend to develop tough scar tissue that will push outward. They are also difficult to clean properly and can get infected even months after the piercing has healed. The surface piercings also tend to also "rip out" with big problems.
I have 20 piercings (9 in each ear, nose and tongue). I refuse to do surface piercings and I won't seek 'intimate' piercings. I do love all the piercings I wear, and if needed I can take them out for important social or professional functions. I tend to wear delicate jewelry pieces rather than the ones popular at tattoo shops. My tongue piercing is a 1", 10 gage, surgical steel, barbell. Many people favoring body modifications will encourage surface piercings, but I dislike them, too.
My opinion of men piercing anything is to get it done where you want it. You are the one facing the needle and you have to live with the result. The notion of right or left side meanings is old-school. I haven't heard anything about that since I was a kid.

ive always liked eyebrow piercings and just got mine done on friday. however, its a matter of opinion. anyway, it doesnt matter which side for straight guys. get it done on whichever side you want. the best would probably be the side you dont sleep on.

for ears if you are hetero get the left. the person who pierces it should also be able to answer that question, its the 1st thing you learn about piercing
