The great white does not know that he is called a shark nor does he know his chewing apparatus is called teeth. He is a creature whose sole purpose in life is to eat and mate. He doesn't think like some mammals do. He is a killing machine that wants to eat what he kills.

Greeat White sharks are no "self-aware". They are just "programmed" to make little Great Whites and eat and swim.

They definitely understand the function of their teeth. Of course they act on instinct and have little knowledge of their classification status.
