id gladly give em some bux cuz they look so poor and have suffered alot but my parents get real pissed when i even look at em, they say that theyre just too lazy to get a job,

first I try to find out if they are truly homeless and if so why. There are many who make a career of panhandleing and will not work. Most of the time I give something if the spirit leads me to. I am currently homeless by some standards with lots of money in my possession. Go figure. I have met professional panhandlers who make more on the streets and peoples sympathies than some educated people in above service sector jobs. Be careful and at least make them tell you a good sob story. A lot of the time I will offer to buy a person food and find out the truth, want beer, dope, etc.

I have given many a homeless person change and always offer them food.

i never give anyone money, the last time it happened (outside the grocery store) i bought an extra loaf of bread, a pack of bologna, and a box of cookies and gave them to the guy on my way out. most use the change for beer or cigaretts and i don't support or do either of those activities so i choose to feed them.

I guess I would consider a change if his suggestion was a good one. Otherwise, I'd just give him $5 USD and tell him to go get some coffee.

most of the so called homeless that I know have more money than I do and they live better than most, so I try and not give them any money

I would give them some for sure. I have done that in the past in New York when I lived back east years ago.

I definately give it to them. Who cares if they spend it on liquor and drugs. If you were homeless, wouldn't you want to be loaded all the time? I know I would.

before i was less-giving, i'd tell them to get a job,, but now, i would give them a cigarette if i didn't have any dollar bills or change on me... i'm nice like that (i'm not gonna tell you how much i've given at one time cuz that would defeat the purpose of a selfless act)... =)

I dont trust "homeless" ppl I dont think they are really homeless
