I was just wondering. Do doctors choose male or female? I never noticed an 'other' block on anyone's birth certificate...

They try to determine which sex is more developed in the person and check that box. It used to be that they would surgically make the person one or the other and check that, but people started growing up with a gender identity different from that the parents and doctors chose, so that caused some ethics issues.

I don't know...maybe they get a special form...but since neither of the sexual organs is fully developed I believe that the parents/doctors make a choice...that may be outdated though.

I thought your gender was typed in? I'm sure the parents choose the sex when its born, maybe the sounagram shows it beforehand.

I believe that the parents and or Drs. make a choice. I am pretty sure that there is not a "not sure" box. Rather sad, isn't it!
