If it's a timeline, there probably isn't much you can change. I mean, you can't change the dates or what occured on those dates. Next time, though, just put down the dates and explain the event in your own words. There are only so many ways you can say the same thing, so I understand what you're saying.

***Would you normally use the word "conferred"? I think it sounds fine, as long as you changed the words around enough to make it sound like something you would say. :)

there is a fine line between copying and "research". If you get some thing from a source and change it up a little with your own words, it is called "paraphrasing". Keep in mind that you should cite your source if you do this.

Copy all you want - just make sure to attribute the source. It's only plaigarism if you claim the words as your own. If you don't, you may get a low grade for letting someone else do your work for you, but they can't accuse you of stealing it.

you can pharaphraze it. That means put it in your own words but still saying pretty much the same thing. If its for a paper besure you site it. If its just a homework question then dont really worry about it unless the teacher says anything.

Not sure what age/grade you are in but technically using anyones words that are not your own without properly citing your source is plagarism unless it is commonly known knowledge (ie 1492 - columbus 'discovered' america, etc.)

well u used sum of ur own words, so not so bad. i'm doing a computer course thing and our teacher TOLD us to copy stuff off the net.. but it's wrong if your submitting it as your own work, you shoud have reference to where you got it from so that your not just saying it's your own..

Sure! it is OK to steal a little, it is OK to kill a little, it is OK to die a little, it is ok to lie a little, so it ought to be ok to cheat, er, uh, copy a little.
