my printer is a hp psc 1210 all in one

If you are running XP this setup should be a snap - if you are running win 2000 - that can be a problem. However, HP overs a fix for 2000:
at their site.
Right way to install a printer:
1) Use the uninstall program or Add/Remove to remove your old printer.
2) Do not hook the new printer up yet
3) Install the software from the CD
4)Shutdown the computer
5) Connect the USB connection and power up the printer
6) Boot your computer back up - let windows find and install the dirvers.

if you are running vista, that will be the problem, vista has many compatability issues, if you have xp im sorry but im not sure, make sure you run the disc before connecting the printer and dont connect it until instructed

first tray to restart your pc, and also check the data cable, if the problem still remove the software and reinstall it again
