Behind the door of Army Spec. Jeremy Duncan's room, part of the wall is torn and hangs in the air, weighted down with black mold. When the wounded combat engineer stands in his shower and looks up, he can see the bathtub on the floor above through a rotted hole. The entire building, constructed between the world wars, often smells like greasy carry-out. Signs of neglect are everywhere: mouse droppings, belly-up cockroaches, stained carpets, cheap mattresses.

This is just one more example of why my dad, retired Navy veteran, said Bush hates military men.
What do you think explains it? How can you want to win and treat your soldiers like this?

Leogirl, he's been president since 2001 - he's had men in battle since 2001 - why is this okay with you? Why are you making excuses for him?

No, Xennypoo, I asked because I want to hear how you make sense of sabre rattling bush's treatment of people like my dad, who actually serve/served this nation, unlike bush and co.

Larry, what do any of these purported facts have to do with the terrible treatment of the maimed soldiers who've done what bush's asked them to do?

John Kerry Leads Military Pay-Raise Effort
Posted by Pamela Leavey

Kerry calls Bush’s proposed pay raise for troops the “lowest in 12 years.”
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Senator John Kerry (D-Mass.) led a 10-Senator effort to increase the pay for servicemembers. The President’s budget specifies a 2.2% increase – the smallest pay raise for our military since 1994.
“Our troops are sacrificing so much, in every corner of the world. Shortchanging them and the families who love them is a lousy way to say thanks,” said Kerry, who authored the letter.
“Our military deserves leadership that matches their service and patriotism. Getting our troops the pay raise they deserve is the very least we can do to show how much we value everything they do for us. I’m going to fight for a fair military pay raise until it becomes a reality, and I thank my colleagues who have joined me in doing so,” added Kerry.

Your so-called question is biased, unfair, and pre-determined. You don't want an answer, you want someone to agree with you. Having a hard time with people seeing things the way you do? Today is not opposite day, Lady. That is on Friday.
I don't have to repeat what you asked. It was plain to everyone you make an accusation against Bush, and his supporters. If that is not what you meant, then perhaps you should rephrase your question. I support Bush, but my heart belongs to the great soldier's past and present, without them, America is nothing! Your question is totally biased, and off-key, off-thinking, untrue, negligent, irresponsible, ugly, and straight wrong! Re-think your question, next time, okay?

Yes, that's why he;
Initiated a comprehensive review of our military, which was completed just prior to 9/11/01, and which accurately
reported that ASYMMETRICAL WARFARE capabilities were critical in the 21st Century.
Pushed through THREE raises for our military. Increased military pay by more than $1 billion a year.
Prohibited putting U.S. troops under U.N. command.
Earmarked at least 20 percent of the Defense procurement budget for next-generation weaponry.
Increased defense research and development spending by at least $20 billion from fiscal 2002 to 2006.
Ordered a comprehensive review of military weapons and strategy.
Ordered renovation of military housing. The military has already upgraded about 10 percent of its inventory and expects
to modernize 76,000 additional homes this year
just to name a few things.

Because after the soldiers are done fighting, they start costing money. George Bush and his supporters don't want to take care of the soldiers that got hurt on the battlefield. But do you think they will quit talking about how much they "support the troops" ? Of course not ! Bush and his supporters don't care about the troops. They care about waging war.

Sounds to me like none of you are Vets. I am I was in Nam, 1/69 to 1/70.
I use the James Haley VA hospital in Tampa, FL.
I have had the best treatment and the buildings are outstanding.
All the staff I have encountered have been very professional and very helpful!
They are adding new buildings, including a new state of the art lab and ER as I type.
My dad is in the nursing home there. They have some of the most caring and professional people I have ever seen. And yes, he has been in private nursing homes. There is no comparison to the treatment and care, the VA beats them cold!
By the way, all the new additions etc have been under Bush's watch.

Hey Kye, Good for you. Seriously. But, this has what to do with the guys injured in Iraq and being treated in substandard facilities at Walter Reed?
XennyPoo - cockroaches in a hospital say love to you?
The answer is that Bush and his supporters hate Veterans because they know what they have done to veterans and are so ashamed of it, they have to shut it out, deny it, make it go away. Or, the thing on poor folk - that's a really insightful guess!

The budget proposal represents an increase of $37.8 billion, or 77 percent, from the budget in effect when the President took office.

Bush and his thugs / gangsters
use and abuse the poor troops
and the troops are suckered into signing up
using false-patriotism to lure them for the kill
Canadians and British do the same
they also treat their troops like dirt
the troops come back with the Gulf War Syndrome
and the military doctors say... 'it's all in your head... go home, you whiners'.
Shamefull!!!

Bush/Cheney/Rove don't hate the vets.
They just like to use them in every way imaginable and still be loved by so many of them who are so naive about how they are being screwed by the GOP.
