Since cricket is a game of uncertainties as has been proved on number of occasions, nothing can be predicted for sure about the final result of the World Cup.
Even considering the current form of teams, winner of the World Cup cannot be predicted as the final outcome will depend upon the performance during the world cup and not the current form.
As it stands now all the top 8 teams stand a chance to win the
world cup. Whichever team plays to their potential consistently during the world cup will be the ultimate winners of the world cup.

Though I am a diehard India fan, I believe that South Africa will win the world cup. They've played remarkably over the last few months while Australia has crumbled. I believe this is the end of Australian supremacy and the beginning of an age of equal cricket, where all teams play equally good.

There are many chances for New Zealand, South Africa and India to win the World Cup 2007.
There are also many chances for India and South Africa to come to the finals.
But everyone says South Africa mostly because just they are in 1st place.
Just think that if they are not in form India has 99.9% chances to win the World Cup.
You can see that Suddenly Australia went to 2nd place. So we can't always say "SOUTH AFRICA".
Accordiong to me the World Cup Winner may be India....
