When you compute simple math problems, which one do you use?

Hello dear!
Let me answer to your nice question by what I experienced!
Many years ago, I was studying Naval Architecture and among others, we were designing ships, calculating all the stresses, strains, dimension, etc., by hand calculators, computers were not available then!
After doing some projects, I found out that my mind was doing the calculations before I was touching the calculator, and the equations were long and the numbers had more than 3 - 4 digits!
Thus, we should always use the technological advances, but parallel we should practice our brains to be steadfast and quick!

Simple as in 3x-5y=10z+6^3 if z=30 and y=20? I use mental for those. Just kidding lol.
I'd use a calculator only for some subtraction or anything past 12x12. Cuz I'm lazy. Heck, if I were allowed to use a calculator, I'd use it, but if it's addition, I'll just use my brain.

The best way to carry out simple calculations is without a calculator.If you stop using calcy for simple calculations,you may find it diffficult initially , but you will actually begin to enjoy a while later .Here are a few tips ...
For addition or subtraction try to do it with the nearest round figure ,then accordingly adjust the balance
For multiplication,try memorising multiplication tables(believe me it's worth it)
Tell yourself ..you like it and you actually will

I almost never use a calculator. It's faster to run calcs in my head or write them out than it is to find where I last put the calculator...

Unless I can do it in like a second, honestly most of the time I just use a calculator...it's much faster and you know it's always right! Haha.

I usually use my hand but, when I'm taking a test I use the calculator to be sure..

Calculator for most everything else.

A calculator. I just use my middle finger to type in all the numbers.
