Baseball is like life: anything can happen. Ichiro could possibly go to the Yankees, but I suspect that both Abreu and Ichiro will re-sign with their respective teams, just because its easier to resign than to look for a new team. Even if Ichiro did go to the Yankees, it would wreak havoc on their lineup. Even now, they're lineup is messed up. Imagine how messed up it would be it they had Ichiro, a third potential leadoff hitter(after Jeter and Damon)

Ichiro's production has fallen off markedly over the previous 2 seasons. The Yankees are paying for a place participant, somebody to platoon in LF with Andruuw Jones in the face of a few injuries. they do no longer seem to be choosing up the ten-time all-movie star version of Ichiro. The Mariners are choosing up a pair of AAA pitching potentialities. That looks life like for a MLB participant who's in the league-elementary selection. The Mariners additionally are no longer confronted with what to do approximately Ichiro on the top of the season. i'm a Mariners fan and that i incredibly like this final section. i think of this is a good commerce for the two components.

At the beginning of each season the Yankees should be allowed to pick the 25 players they want, then let the other 29 teams fight over the scraps.

An intriguing idea, but that will bring up other questions -- he's the quintessential leadoff hitter, so does that slide Johnny Damon to 2nd in the batting order? And does it mean Jeter bats 3rd?

That's just great (sarcasm). The Yankees "steal" all the good, talented, and known players. That just made my day (more sarcasm).
