Jennifer J has it right. By definition, 100 is the median IQ. If more than half of the people score higher than 100, the scores are readjusted so that 100 is the medial value. 85-115 is considered "normal intelligence," and most people would score within this range.

Actually, the mean (average) IQ score is 100, which means that HALF of all scores are below 100...and the other half are above 100.
