Yes, He passes too often when he would be thier best chance at a basket. I think the reason he does this is because Smush is also a shooting guard(but he sucks) art point and shooting guard. They need to aquire a real point guard so Kobe can go back to what Kobe does best. Scoring

Yes and no. He's taking 20 shots a game and will never be confused as 1. The only major difference between a 1 and 2 in the triangle is that the 1 will typically bring the ball up court start it up. Even in the 3 peat days, Kobe has always done more than his share of the ballhandling duties especially late in games

Historically speaking, PG's do not put up 30+ ppg. Kobe distributes the ball well, as all players should, but most don't. Kobe is talented enough to do it well, thus averaging a good number of assists per game, but also, the reason he does as much passing as he does, is to create more opportunities for his scoring. when defenses have to respect the pass as well as the shot, it makes him a double threat. Nothing about his game resembles a PG. He is, however, becoming a more team-oriented player which may be the real reason this question is brought up at this point in his career. people aren't used to this style from Kobe, and are trying to figure it out.

Kobe a point guard? That's the funniest thing I've heard.

The only reason it seems like that is because he is passing more then we have ever seen him pass before. But point guard type passing? That is a bit of a stretch.

He's not a point guard, nor a shooting guard. He's a Kobe Bryant. It's hard to balance all that talent. People will blame you for shooting too much or passing too much if you're not perfect when you're that good...Then sometimes they do it anyway.

The triangle offense allows for ballhandlers to make certain cuts to varying areas according to what the defense gives you. The responsibility of the players is to make the right cuts and get the ball to the open players. Kobe is working well within this system and as his teammates, will often look like a guard when he distributes the ball to the right person. :)

No he averages too many points to be a point guard a true point guard should get around 10 assists a game while a SG should get 5. Although I think he should continue passing I think his team could benefit from him shooting a little more and averaging around 31ppg without going overboard and averaging like 36ppg.

I think he's acting like both! the Lakers don't really have a true pointguard. Heck the NBA is lacking "true" pointguards. The ones that come to mind emmediately are Nash, Kidd, Paker, and that's it. Kobe is playing like a basketball player plaing every position that he needs to in order for the Lakers to win. Sometimes that means playing the point. So to answer your question Kobe plays both and then some!

Acting like a point guard? Are you kidding? A point guard passes more than he shoots--something Kobe doesn't do. Steve Nash and Jason Kidd are real Point Guards.
