deductive is from the general to the specific (I keep up with dates assignments are due, I listen in class, get more and more specific), inductive is reasoning from the specific to the general (I make all a's, so I must be organized, I must be a hard worker, I must make academics a priority - get more and more general)

Chris started correctly but then got lost somewhere. Well, let me try:

I am intelligent, I am hard working, I am regular, I am attentive, I am inquisitive, I maintain a good health, I balance my studies with my sports so that I am not founding wanting...So, it is quite likely that I get excellent grades in my school. This is an example of inductive reasoning.

Now let us see the same paragraph from the deductive reasoning angle:

I am one of the guys with excellent grades in my class. So, I must be intelligent, hard working, regular in attendance...

I hope you got the pattern. Here is a classic example of deductive logic:

All men are mortals.
Socrates is a man.

So, Socrates is a mortal.

Now let us see how the same thing is handled in Induction:

Socrates is a man and is a mortal. Ram is a man and is a mortal. Allen is a man and is a mortal...

So, it is most probable that all men are mortal.

Remember, in induction, we cannot be absolutely sure of the statement unlike in deduction.

the two one in each and every of those are deductive reasoning. An occasion of inductive reasoning is right here. coach that the sum of the 1st n unusual numbers is n squared. First coach actual if n = a million. Then coach that if actual n = ok, the place ok is a few fastened sort, then it could be actual for n = ok + a million. it is inductive reasoning.
