I think that most people hesitate to lay their morals on other people. It would be nice if more people felt that way. If you disapprove of somebody's morals that's your opinion, but it should remain your opinion and nothing else - it's not your place to lecture another adult based on your own definition of promiscuity. I'm not sure what you consider promiscuity to be, and that's part of the problem. Some see it as having sex before marriage period, if you do that your morals are less than stellar. Some think if a person is dating and sleeping with two people at the same time that's horribly promiscuous, others see it as nothing to get excited over. Who draws that line, and why do they have the right to even draw it for another consenting adult? I happen to think that a man who sleeps around is less immoral than one who thinks about nothing but money and power. Immorality is certainly subjective. I'm more of a moderate in most political matters, but I'm definitely a social liberal. I just think most people who moan and complain about other's morals have no ability to turn the spotlight on themselves and worry about the beam in their own eye. I've been around for awhile, long enough to see so much hypocrisy from the Moral Majority that it sometimes turns my stomach. Don't assume anything about what I think is moral and immoral, social liberal though I might be. I find the question of morality to be on a much higher level than simply pointing a finger at promiscuous behavior.

Promiscuity is condsidered immoral by most people, regardless of political affiliation.
In a free nation, the Libs believe that people can make their own moral choices.
The Republicans want legislate morality on people while claiming freedom.

it seems like they all "talk" about it being immoral, yet the VAST majority do it anyway? been to high school recently?
all you have to do is look at the virginity rates compared to the marriage rates for young people. either they are all liberals, or a lot of people doing it anyway?
at least liberals life actions are consistent with their beliefs?

I didn't realize that was a common liberal idea...and I'm sure not all liberals feel that way. But I can't imagine what excuse anyone would have for blatant promiscuity. To me, people who are loose with their bodies have no self respect.
