Would it ever be ugly! Everyone on the 92 team shot the lights out, except for Jordan and Laettner... here are their FG percentages during the 92 Olympics:

Barkley .711 (including 7-8 from 3 pt land)
Malone .645
Ewing .623
Mullin .619
Pippen .596
Drexler .578
Robinson .574
Johnson .567
Bird .521
Stockton .500
JORDAN .451 (including .21% from 3 pt land )
Laettner .450

In stead of Laettner, we should have sent Isaiah Thomas or Dominique Wilkins... of course, Michael said he'd take his ball and go home if Thomas was selected for the team.

No future "dream teams" will ever match up with the originals... these guys went to Barcelona with one thing in mind... destroy! And other than Jordan, they didn't care about their own personal stats over there...they just went out and won by 44 pts per game.

That was, of course, the first year we were able to send pros to the Olympics in basketball... as all of the other countries had been doing for years. These guys couldn't wait to go over there and annihilate the rest of the world.

Barkley was easily the best player over there. He led the team in scoring with 18/game.. Jordan was 2nd with 14. Jordan had 113 FGAs, Barkley was the only other player on the team with more than 80 FGA (he had 83 ).

The 2004 team disgraced themselves and this country by "winning" a bronze medal... it doesn't get much more embarrassing that that (but hey, at least they're athletic, right?)

If the two teams played a 48 minute game, the final score would be 187-99. The 99 points would be scored by whoever Laettner was guarding LOL

Hm, I don't think so.

Original Dream Team:

Starters:
PG - Magic Johnson
SG - Michael Jordon
SF - Scottie Pippen
PF - Larry Bird
C - David Robinson

Bench:
John Stockton
Chris Mullin
Karl Malone
Christian Laettner
Patrick Ewing
Clyde Drexler
Charles Barkley

2007 Dream Team

Starters:
PG - LeBron James
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Tim Duncan

Bench:
Dwight Howard
Vince Carter
Gilbert Arenas
Tracy McGrady
Allen Iverson
Shawn Marion
Amare Stoudemire

For the 2007 Dream Team I picked the best from both All-Star teams this year, excluding international players. I tried to match up starters evenly. LeBron is starting at point guard because Magic did. I think the score would be very even if they played, given the 2007 team had about 2 minimum months of practice together.

Score:
2007 - 102
1992 - 99

Kobe hits the game winning three :)

No contest....Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird alone could kill any team that's put together today.
