a lap top which recently fell onto a cushioned floor about 1'foot fall.
now it will not charge , the power cord is fine . checked the voltage coming from it and checked it in another computer and it is working. but when i plug it into the lao top that fell it doeasnt show as charging/ plugged in or nothing. computer still starts up off battery power and runs fine. what could this be?

Something may have been damaged where you plug the power cord in on the computer. Also, you may have caused damage to a connection to the battery.

Do you have another battery you could try the power cord with? Maybe the battery is bad. Also check the pins on the battery, the fall may have bent or damaged them.
