It's illegal because the Government has no sense of giving, humanity or true justice. By putting a quarter in a strangers parking meter, you are 'robbing' the government of a 25 dollar fine that they could have reaped from the 'negligent' parker. It's illegal for the same reason the government controls everything to do with liquor, tobacco, and gambling. It's profitable, and necessary in any business that operates with the same conscience of an organized crime gang.

Some parking spots now have sensors that tell them when a car leaves and resets the meter to zero. Those are the parking meters where you pay with a damn credit card!

Seriously? I never new it was illegal, hun. I thought it was just being a good samaritan.

Good Question...I think it's just because they want to be able to write a ticket on your car...and therefore make more money off you since you'll have a fine to pay.
