Do mockingbirds fly south or north for the winter? I heard on a website they fly north but im not sure that's true.

It depends where you are. They are year round residents where I'm at, too. Here are breeding & winter range maps:

They definitely don't fly North.

In Texas, they are year around residents, even though the temperatures fall below 15 degrees at times. They continue to eat berries, bugs and whatever birdseed they find.

not knowing where you are i can only say that birds migrate to places with food ( lots more important then the temp ) if the food source was north !( or they were south of the equator where was the web site referring too - maybe it was southern Chile ? not enough info here )
