Well - I know from my own experience that love makes me happier but not necessarily from being around other people...

Occasionally - I feel stifled by others... like I would be much happier with some alone time.... but maybe that is just me.

I also think that the laws in this country contradict eachother on this topic... think: Gay Marriage and "the pursuit of happiness"...

Well, love and good feelings never hurt anyone! I'm sure that does wonders for the heart and spirit! Especially if the love is true and evenly yolked. So, I would definitely agree with whomever said that companionship can make you happier (or even healthier). I even read in a study once that people who have animals have a de-stresser source when they pet the animal's soft fur. So love with your soul mate.....yes, I think that's a happy source.

I have read that when you are in a relationship (or probably even just with someone you care about), and you touch each other, kiss, or whatever, (you know), that your body actually releases these enzymes or hormones that are the "happy" and "healing" ones and that is physiologically extremely good for you. It can heal you from the inside out if you get these flowing a lot. Also, having a pet that you can hold and cuddle also does this as well!!!
