You know, like taking drugs for pain relief, using an epidural, going to the hospital? Oh, yeah - and giving formula on the first day of life instead of breastmilk. Don't forget the pacifier, too...

If an animal is in distress during bith it is given drugs even epidurals, a large number of pets are born at the veternarin's clinic/hospital. I guess you've never bottle fed an animal. I have more than once because the mother rejected it. And yes, I've given a pacifier to an animal. Maybe you should read up on veternary medicine and what they do in zoos/wild life refuges...

what has that to do with humans and religion and spirituality? who cares what chimps can do were not animals but human just because they have two eyes and i have two eyes means nothing or that were related you may be a monkeys uncle but i am not one your lying we do not share more than 98% of dna some people would not know the truth if it bit them on the nose Although it has commonly been stated in the past that humans and chimpanzees have 98.5% DNA similarity, this figure has recently been found to be incorrect. Newer research has suggested that there is approximately 96% genetic similarity between Humans and chimpanzees overall. Of course the fine details depend on what specific chromosomes one is looking at. Although 96% of the DNA is similar overall, there are some very significant differences in some chromosomes, where other chromosomes are nearly identical. Specifically, 18 of the chromosomes of humans are nearly identical to those of chimpanzees, the rest are very different (eg: chromosomes 4, 9, 12, 21, and y). Some specific examples of differences include: 1) Humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes in total while chimpanzees have 24. 2) Chimpanzees and other apes have telomeres about 23 kilobases long, whereas humans are completely unique among primates with much shorter telomeres only 10 kilobases long. 3) The Y chromosome in chimpanzees is smaller than that of humans and only 60% of the genes are similar to those of the y chromosome of humans. You forgot "and wants to invite their mother and best friend to watch."

I was trying to figure out recently if there's another species that tolerates company during the process. Are there dog doulas? Etc.

LOL!! Okay, I think this is the most hilarious question I've seen on Yahoo Answers, ever. A big "RIGHT ON" to you. As a certifying birth doula, I'm plenty irritated by all of the above birth practices. Nice to see that I'm not alone. :)
