HMM!!! i read it in middle school.. which was VERY VERY Long ago.. but i bought the book. ahah like 1000 +pages wiht gold edges and a nice leather cover its the illiad and then the odyssey! two gret books in one!
well modern day litereature
its shows that you can overscome any obstacle. and you will always get to there you want to be in life if you set your heart and mind to it!
good luck! also greed is another good one! as stated above! =D i should go start reading it.. hmm maybe after i read the illiad someday! hehehe!

Yes and I drive one--Honda. If you think about why a car is so named perhaps you may be on the way in your journey to relate to modern day literature.

Wow why do so many people choose to be uneducated today? It's Homer btw. His writings have only been around since hmm lets see 500 B.C or so why don't you read it? or at least read cliff notes on it. Sad:/

here are some themes about the story
1. the power of love and devotion - Medea helps Jason& his men escape with the golden fleece
2. determination - Jason accomplishes his goals, he refused to give up on his quest. 'theres no turning back' .. they made it through the clashing rocks for example
3. corruption - King Polias killed Jasons father for the throne. he was power hungry

Watch 'O Brother where art thou' (George Clooney) for some clues; it was based on The Odyssey

don't listen to that moron Leo, it is Homer and it's more or less considered a poem. it's about Odysseus trying to make it home after the Trojan War and the obstacles he has to overcome. you really should read it, it's entertaining, or at least i thought so when i read it in 7th grade 10 years ago
