I think green day is a great band, i'v listned to all the cds even the ones before dookie an i agree the old stuff is the best, but is it really resonable to hate them just becuase of the american idiot cd? I mean, many ppl been saying the american idiot cd is just crap, but is that enough reasaon to hate them. Does anyone know for the fact that a another gd cd that will come out will not be like dookie???? If you like green day whats your reason for likeing them, if you hate them whats your reason for hating them besides the new cd being crap( y are they posers?????).
Wouldn't realy fans stay with them form the beginig to the end????

I like Green Day, old and new. I do not think they are posers in the least. Every band goes through phases with their music. They will experiment with "theme albums". American Idiot is very politically motivated which is why a lot of people I know hate it. But the truth for me is, even though I do not agree with all their statements through this cd, I respect that they have an opinion. And I think it's nice they have shown they have a little bit more substance. Not to mention, I think the music itself is pretty good. I look forward to the next!

Green Day sold out. Haveing seen Green Day when they were coming up in Petaluma and seeing them a couple years ago at a big venue, it's abundantly clear they sold their music out for the money and the wider appeal. REAL fans would HATE that they sold out and look at present-day Green Day as crap. But, you're not a real fan, clearly.

i used to love gd, wen i was younger, but now im getting in2 harder rock bands. like, underoath, metallica, from first to last, *chiodos*. i stopped listening 2 them BECUZ of american idiot and bullet in a bible cds. i thot that they sucked. now i just hate them 4 all of their music.

i agree. you were never a real fan of Green Day if you start to dislike them, becuhs their cd wasnt good enough to entertain you. i use to like green day but somehow i started liking japanese pop & their bands.
