Having a social life is based on what you think not what others do. It means spending time with friends and doing what you enjoy. I don't compare your social life or your life in general to anyone else because you are not them.

Belongingness within an organized or semi organized group, I would suppose. Perhaps your friend isn't feeling too social at this time. Maybe she is grieving a loss. Group of people that does activities together, have interaction with one another. This can be considered than social life.

Doesn't limit to drinking with buddies, going to clubs and night life stuff. Sad to think that some people thinks that this life is the only social life.

Having a social life means getting actively involved with other people, and is usually in reference to friendships.

In contrast, someone who does not have a very rich social life is someone who does not socialize "hang out" with other people enough. Pretty much having no friends with whom you engage in regular activities with.

Having a social life means interacting with others, whether that means going out, just having friends come to your home or just writing pals. Your friend is obviously being pressured by someone who has their own shortcomings- please tell her that.
