i have an iMac. it has mac OS X 10.2.9 and i have to buy OS X 10.4. in order to transfer songs from my computer to my new ipod video.
Will the OS X 10.4 run on my computer, or do i have to get the 10.3.9 and all the other ones first?

i really need an answer because i need to be able to get songs onto my ipod!!!!!

Hello hcogirl14,

Normally it would, but Apple made 10.4 Tiger available on a single DVD disk instead of a box of five CD-ROM disks. If your iMac has a DVD disk drive on it then you can easily upgrade to this. Also if you have a friend who has a laptop and a firewire cable, you can use your friend's laptop as a DVD drive to do the upgrade.

The other option is to upgrade to 10.3 Panther. It was still on the CDs, it's a lot cheaper, and it was a very good upgrade. Plus Panther is able to use the latest iTunes too. Best of luck to you.
