I would assume girl, because of the "la" I guess, but something tells me you are thinking of it as a boys name...
But I don't like the name. It sounds like a cross between a big item in French and grunge, maybe with a bit of a garage stuck in there.
It's definitly more surname than first name, which is probably what is making me think you will use it for a boy rather than a girl.
I don't like it though. There is something almost dirty about it, and I'm not someone who would normally criticise someones choice of name either.
Maybe, if there is a specific reason for using this name (i.e. carrying on a surname that will otherwise run out, happened to my brother, bless him!) then use it as a middle name instead?

Sounds like a name of a Hotel or a Car not a name of a child. Sorry.

Why do people insist on naming their kids IDOITIC names?
When your child is older and goes to an interview to defend their PhD theisis they are going to have to enter that room of scholars with the name of La'Grange.
I bet you don't even know what that name means. But, those professors sure will.
In french it means litterally "the barn".
You could always go with silo as a middle name.

I would think that someone was making fun of the child for being less than hygenic. The word "grange" is to similar in my mind to both mange and grungy. The "La" in front of it doesn't help. It sounds like the French name of a skin condition.

I would think it was La Strange.
However to answer your question I would hope it was a boys name. I have never heard of that as a name before I think it sounds very strange for either a boy or a girl.

Well, I actually know a person with the last name LaGrange. It sounds like a sur-name to me, not a first name. If you do use it as a first name, though, it sounds completely unisex.

It reminds me of someone trying to immitate a French accent. It's horrible but it's a girl's name because it La'Grange not Le'Grange. What's the point with the apostrophes and the Les and Las. I don't get it!

That's actually a city near where I live. As a child's name, I don't like it.
To answer your question, if I heard the statement "do your homework La'grange", I couldn't identify the name as male or female.
