I mean wherever the guy goes he is attacked by frenzied and loving fans. I heard in 1997 he was voted the worlds most famous person and I think he still is. I mean who else would there be that the whole world knows?

MJ is famous allright but there's plenty of people I can think of that are equally as famous:
Jesus - World savior (if you're into that sort of belief)
Elvis - Musician
Michael Jordan - Large B ball player (entire line of shoes modeled after him)
Beatles - Pop Musical group (I think it was back in 68 that John Lennon said they were bigger than Jesus)
Hitler - Crazed military fasist zealot (responsible for the killing many millions of people, how could you not be famous after that?)
I guess it all depends on what you're famous for.

NOt that I'm particularly religious, but I think Jesus is the world's most RECOGNIZED person. I don't know how many impoverished nations have heard of MJ.
