I've seen guppies give birth and the babies come out - but I think our new fish is preggers...what do I do?!

First I would like to tell you that I work at a pet store so I know what I'm talking about. Now the fantail goldfish is split into a couple of different groups each of which have their own unique style. But the there are about three things that they all have in common.
They, of coarse, have fantails.
They have fat stomachs (which makes then look preg.)
And finally they all grow to be at least 10 inches long.
But to answer your question goldfish do not give birth, they lay eggs. Guppies are part of the live bearer group which includes: Mollys, Platys, Swordtails, & Guppies. Since your goldfish lays eggs you don't have to worry about waking up one morning and seeing any babies. Plus the fish will actually eat the some of the eggs/babies. If you do find eggs they will probably be in the corner of the tank. If you don't want them then just use a wash cloth or algea pad and wipe them away. If you want to keep them, if you have any other fish in the tank excluding the dad then you are going to want to move them over to a different tank. Otherwise all your little babes will be eaten.

The only animals that give live birth are mammals. Let the fish be a fish, non-humans handle birth better than humans. Just let the fish lay her eggs and be natural. Maybe separate her from the other fish until she lays her eggs, then put her back with any other fish (if she is in with other fish) would be the only suggestion I could give.

Goldfish only lay eggs. It wouldn't be pregnant, it would just be full of eggs.

why YES they are birth givers, the male fu(ks the female in the virgina, and now she store thousands of fishes and when shes ready she gives birth to thousands of goldies. MY GOD your goldfish must be a 20 pounder! .... well if your fish is ready to give Birth then say this to her PUSH PUSH PUSH HARDER OMFG I SEE THE HEAD! TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND PUSHH!
