How do you burn a song you've downloaded from Itunes onto your computer in MP3 format? I keep getting a message that says my music file is an Itunes Store File. What does that mean?

When you buy a song from the iTMS, it's in a copy-protected format that can only be played in iTunes on a computer that your account is authorized for. As far as I know, there is no easy way to convert these copy-protected files into MP3 or any other format. You can burn it onto an audio CD and then rip it to your computer (make sure the settings are set to MP3, not AAC), but you'll lose some quality in the process as well as any data about the song there might have been in the original file.

Have you selected MP3 CD in iTunes > Preferences > Advanced > Burning?

iTunes won't allow you to create mp3 CDs using protected files as a source. You are only allowed to burn them to audio CDs and there is a limit on how many copies you can make.

It should let you know when you go to burn the CD. Your best bet is putting about 20 songs on each CD. I know that works for me unless you have a song that is longer than about 4 or 5 minutes.
