why does my computer slows down when i insert a USB flash drive or an external HDD? can anyone help me

While your computer reads this device some slowdown would be normal. If it stays that way then ????

When you insert a USB device, the computer has to run the drivers for the device which consumes computer resources, causing your computer to slow down.
