I would assume girl, because of the "la" I guess, but something tells me you are thinking of it as a boys name... But I don't like the name. It sounds like a cross between a big item in French and grunge, maybe with a bit of a garage stuck in there. It's definitly more surname than first name, which is probably what is making me think you will use it for a boy rather than a girl. I don't like it though. There is something almost dirty about it, and I'm not someone who would normally criticise someones choice of name either. Maybe, if there is a specific reason for using this name (i.e. carrying on a surname that will otherwise run out, happened to my brother, bless him!) then use it as a middle name instead?

I think it is definitely a masculine name (boy). But it really sounds like a river in the desert to me. And it rhymes with STRANGE!
Sorry! But I really don't like it as a name. Try putting another prefix in front of it or use Grangi or La' something else. I just think of a grange as a piece of property.

I would think of a small town in Texas mentioned in a ZZ Top song that references a house of prostitution. I don't think I would ever use it as a person's name. Sorry.

i would think of a little town outside louisville, KY, and then i would think it was a bit silly of a name, no offense, and then i would probably hope to god that the poor unfortunate soul who was named as such would be male.
