You can call Legends Field to find out the exact time for practice each day, but late morning is pretty safe. You park in the regular lot and it's free. All the players work out in the outfield first and the pitchers play catch along the left field line. Batting practice is in normal groups. They put this big bench up behind home plate and Torre and other coaches sit there. Yogi often joins them. Players don't sign during batting practice, but most, including Jeter, talk to fans and pretty much pose for pictures. After practice, people line up in the aisle behind the Yankee dugout and Joe and sometimes a player sign. You can stand above the practice field on the 3rd base side and watch the pitchers work out. Some players sign on their way from the practice field (1st base side) over to the main field. Just enjoy the whole complex. They sell food and you're not allowed to bring in anything, not even water. The store has a lot of good merchandise.
Have fun!
