i have a 16th birthday in april and i want to do a simple, inexpensive party with like 10 other friends & i live near philly. any ideas?

Do a movie themed slumber party! Roll out a red rug (if you have one) and have your guests walk the red carpet. Tell them to dress formal. Have a movie hunt, where each piece of paper has a small movie poster on it. Then, below the poster, there is a clue to the next poster. Whoever wins gets a free Blockbuster gift card, or something like that. Watch movies, and don't forget the popcorn and candy! Give your guest a burned CD with popular songs from movies on it, like "The Pink Panther" theme and the main song from Pirate's of the Caribbean. Happy early birthday! Have fun- I hope this helps!

Why don't you just invite your friends over, and do something together? Like baking, or some crafts~ Or, why don't you bake something beforehand, and serve your home-made products to your guests? ^_^; Just a suggestion. =_=;
