therefore the experimental grp is the one being tested, given drugs, put under test conditions or exposed to some sort of stimulus while the control grp is just the regular ppl not being exposed to anything so that at the end of the procedure both grps can be compared for similarities or differences.

Whenever you do an experiment you need to prove that what you are testing is causing the result, it isn't just coincidence that is what the control group does. Lets say you want to know if sex education increases sexuality in teens. You need a group of teens that is not taught sex ed, if there is an increase in sexuality, then you know that it is a natural part of their age group (this is your control group). You would need a group that was taught sex ed, this would be your experimental group. You would then compare the groups and be able to see if sex ed increased the sexuality more than was natural.
There is a control group in any study, psychological or in the hard sciences. Experiments that test many variables have many control grops and many experimental groups but most experiments can get away with one control group.
Hope that helps

its just a specimen that has nothing added to it to see the effects of what chemicals can do, while the control has notihng added to it. It verifys if a chemical added to a substance makes the specimen better, or worse.
