I have to write a speech for Debate and I want to know your thorough opinions on if telemarketing calls should be illegal after business hours.

Any phone solicitation outside of the hours of 8am-9pm are already illegal. Restricting telemarketers to standard business hours (9am-5pm) would keep their annoyances at bay, but would put a crimp on other, legal tele-solicitation (debt collectors, surveyors, donation seekers, etc.) who need to be allowed to contact customers (read: targets) at hours that they are likely to be home.

Personally, I think all phone solicitation should be illegal, regardless of who the calls are from. But that would put us back in the era of door-to-door sales and haughty repomen. At least I can unplug my phone when I want peace...

There are set hours when telemarketers are allowed tocall.
I think its same as working hours in the morning 8 or 9, and not after 8 P.M.

And I think no more sundays either.

In your debate dont forget to add that 'do not call registry'

There are some laws on telemarketing call times. They cannot call before 8am or after 9pm.
