I don't feel that Food stamps "free" housing and "free" medical care have anything to do with how kids will grow up. I feel that only those who have never had to depend on the government for assistance feel that those kids growing up on it will feel that it's ok. My parents were military and we never had "government assistance". Yet I had to get some after I got pregnant because I couldn't work which meant I couldn't get insurance or pay bills. My daughter has medicaid. If she didn't I couldn't afford for her to go to a doctor. As long as the system isn't abused it works. You have to go through A LOT of sh*t to get help now and I think some people are turned off by it. However it also turns people away who might actually need some help.

You are only what you make of yourself. I came from a poor family and I have done very well for myself; my poverty helped me become what my parents never were. If we restrict those who are poor from having children then we have traded in our constitutional rights for a democracy. Just my point of view.

The socialistic practice of uncontrolled welfare, free housing, free medical care, food stamps, etc. indirectly teaches the child that you don't have to work to survive.
