Actually, the best way to repair a wooden frame, french door
that has rotten wood, is to replace it. If you would try to replace
every piece of wood, that is rotten, you would need an extensive
knowledge of millwork and a " boat-load" of tools and equipment
that require a lot of knowledge to use. If the customer wants to
have the same kind of french doors, ( wood frame ), and is
willing to close the opening, for an extended amount of time,
and is willing to pay an exorbitant amount of money, to have this
done, then, it is entirely conceiveble that this door can be repaired/rebuilt. The most cost effecient way to replace this door
is to replace it with a modern, metal frame that has the look
of the old frame structure, even though you may have to re-frame to the opening, it will look good, be long lasting, and not be
an extended burden to you or your customer.

I woud dig out the rot best I could with a knife and chisel. Then make a cardboard form around it to the needed shape and fill that void with Polurethane Adhesive dispensed thru a regular caulk guy. That poly will expand in there and bond will be permanent. Trim it flush with a sharp chisel, sand it smooth and prime and paint or varnish stain whatever you wish. This is a permanent repair that will last indefenitely.

Im assuming its not a total rotted disaster, but even a real horror case can be fixed in this manner.

Go to Lowes, window and door department " millwork" . There you will find the frame parts for doors. both the legs and the threshold. They are a bit difficult to do but can be done. Ask the guys in the Millwork department how to do this. you will have to remove the doors and relace each side one at a time and seal it up good. Best to replace the whole leg rather than part of one. The legs at lowes come with the weatherstrip attached.

If the customer wants it replaced, why don't you just replace it. And if you are asking this question I wonder if you have the skills and tools to fix it anyway.
From the small amount of info you gave I can't tell you how to fix it, there are techniques for repairing rotting wood with epoxy but a couldn't say if that could work for you.

Sorry, if you have to ask the question, and it has to do with a door or door frame, get a professional. It has to be perfectly square and you could beat your brains out while a professional could have it done in under an hour.

Sometimes replacing the wood can be more money and hassle than getting a new door. Plus if the door is old a new door will be a lot better at insulating.
