You can use any number of free utilities which display the hardware installed on your computer. My 2 favorites are the free CPU-Z and Lavalys' Everest home edition. After installation either program, click on the Memory option and it will display the make, model and speed of the RAM installed on your computer. Some one mentioned Corsair memory tool, which is an online tool. It scans your computer and displays what RAM is installed. You can find it on their website (http://www.corsairmemory.com/)

1. CPU Z (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/CPUZ/966149377/1)

2. Everest (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Everest_Home/1086844970/1)

AGP was once the general. yet now each and every of the hot and sturdy pics card use PCI, witch is extra useful then AGP. definite you do not % intergrated pics, thats for particular. The sockets remember via what processor you % to apply. So i could check out the processor you %, and then come across a motherbaord that has that socket. i take advantage of Tiger Direct, Newegg, and ZipFlyZoom

Contact the manufacturer of your computer. If it is an older machine it may be picky about memory, so it is best to go with the brands recommended by your computer or motherboard manufacturer.

Crucial is good quality memory, and are very quick on delivery.

Go to their website, where you can have your PC scanned, and it'll tell you which RAM you need.
