It is easier to joke about something tragic then to deal with it head on.
Either that or there are too many soulless sociopaths running around.

Hey sweetie...people try to make jokes using shock value sometimes....making fun of young mothers dying creates a "shock value" that can catch people off guard and some will find it funny because it is so inappropriate. It is pretty sad though. Some things should not be joked about.

To me some things just shouldn't be joked about,and for some one to joke about a young mother dying would either have to have a very warped sense of humour,or be completely sick in the head.

It's called "gallows humor" or "black humor."
It's not uncommon to deal with unpleasant things by joking about them; it's a coping mechanism. I wouldn't neccessarily read anything into it.
