ok, I have been assigned a project where I have to draw a Canadian scene on one side of a piece of paper. Then, on the other side I have to write a message to a real or imaginary person. I can do the message easy. It's just the drawing that's causing me problems. I am drawing Niagra Falls. I have got the actual "Falls" part drawn. It's just I have no idea what else to draw. I have tried putting in rainbow and I have failed miserably. Any suggestions??

Go search up pictures of Niagra Falls and you'll probably get many results. Get some ideas there.
Try doing some scenery around it-maybe trees or rocks. But I don't know what Niagra Falls looks like, so just do some scenery that fits with Canada.

You've chosen just one of many -- here are some other suggestions to fill the page.
British Columbia (my home province) is usually known internationally for mountains, oceans (and killer whales) and Aboriginal west coast art (totem poles, Haida masks).
Saskatchewan, at least in the south, is flat land, tall wheat, grain elevators and small towns.
The most identified images in the Maritimes are small fishing ports.
The north is home to remote lands, tundra, isolated villages and wildlife (musk ox, polar bear).
Of course this is a relatively "tourist" take on Canadian iconography. Canada is a huge country (2nd largest land mass, trailing only Russia). You could pick an image of anything short of a tropical rainforest and find it somewhere in Canada.

did you put in the steps that go up to the falls with a railing and maybe the boat that goes under the falls, these are both easy to draw and will make the picture stand out. good luck.

How about drawing someone committing suicide by jumping over the falls. I heard Niagra Falls is a big suicide destination.

Frame it in bushes (easy to draw) like you are looking at the falls through a patch of bushes/leaves/trees.

Fade out the edges of the falls. You're done.
When creating (drawing/painting/printing, ect) alwats remember, LESS IS ALWAYS BEST.

try using chalk instead of pencil. It quicker and easier, especially for water. You may want to try white and blue chalk on blue paper.
