Let's go over a few things.

- when plugged into the wall, they don't light up when turned on, like before.
- plug fell out
- software has disabled sound card
- dog chewed speaker wire
- plug not in GREEN JACK... fell out, but put in wrong jack
- cat chewed speaker wire
- software has been set to MUTE

Open the Control Panel and pick SOUND. Check the settings. Look for the volume control near the clock on your task bar. Check the settings.

Try a different headset in your computer's speaker jacks. The iPod earphone should work.

It's all a matter of swapping things in and out to figure out what has gone wrong, but the Sound Card might be DEAD.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

your sound card drivers have become corrupted, you will need to reinstell them, you should have got a disc with the pc called drivers and utilities or similar, insert this and install the drivers or go to the manufacturers web site and get them there under downloads
