Sulfur

Oxygen has the same number of electrons in it's outer shell in it's electron configuration. Both Oxygen and Sulfur are highly reactive, Xenon on the other hand has a satisfied outer electron shell and is non-reactive (occurring naturally)

Xenon (Xe) because it is part of the vapor you breathe. oxygen is not the only element in the atmosphere that you or i breathe, it contains most of the gases produced naturally. if it was totally
O2 there would not be the possibility to make a fire. sulfur is a
substance that needs to be produced to create a gas and has a hard time combining with O2 but likes it with explosive results.

Sulfur- Look at Period 16.

All of the elements in a particular period have a similar chemical make up.

Sulfur is right below O- they are similar. Xe is in row 18...

Elements appearing in the same column of the periodic table have similiar properties because the have the same number of electrons in their outermost shell.

Sulfur is in the same column as Oxygen, and so it's more similiar to Oxygen than Xenon (which is considered to be an inert (non reactive) gas.
