On Dateline, her brother got caught soliciting a 13 year old boy for you know what. He is a high powered district attorney who is a child molester. As if this makes him better than any other molester. When the cops come to his house to make the arrest, this idiot shoots and kills himself (so you know he is guilty). The investigation says he has done far more to kids than this one incident and has sophisticated locks on his computer. His jerk of a sister has the audacity to defend her chester molester brother and blame the cops and Dateline for him killing himself. Does she have NERVE? I don't give a freak how much money this discusting creep made, who he is in the law, he is a predator of children and deserved to be caught/put under the jail. So I guess it would have been better for him to ruin young boys' lives by R****** them and getting away with it? That made me more angry than his death, because at least he can't hurt anymore children. Can you beleive this woman was serious!

This was the case that was all over the papers about 4 months ago. He had been a former ADA for the state of TX.
The sister is just in major denial. She cannot accept the fact that her brother was a pedophile. It is hard for any member of any family to accept. She should not have blamed the host of Dateline, she should have just shut her mouth
The thing was though the whole town of Murphy was in an uproar because they " did not know about it".To me that was the point. You don't know where the perverts are. They can be in your backyard. Even the creeps former boss was upset, claiming he should have been notified so he could have "talked" to him to turn himself in. I was trying to figure out what talking to was supposed to do. Like that would have made a difference. He would have killed himself anyway because he was busted and had been in charge of child molestation cases when he was ADA. Talk about the fox protecting the hen house. Yuck!!!!

No it’s not if you are in law school and pasted the first year you should know that. Entrapment would be forcing the person into an act they would not normally commit. What they are doing is posing as an underage person, stating they are underage and let the person commit a crime. If the person wouldn't normally have sex or try to engage in sex with an underage person they would just pass the person by no harm no foul, but it you are the type of person who wishes to engage in underage sex, then you might set up a meeting with this “person” and break the law in the process. We have laws to protect people; we as a society have decided that people over a certain age shouldn’t have sex with people under a certain age. You stated “If these guys are trying to meet with a girl in the school playground, fry them.” When they show up at the house they believe that they are going to have sex with an underage person, it is no different than “trying to meet with a girl in a school playground”. Do you really believe that the guy was just showing up to talk? No they were they for sex and they should have to register as a sex offender. Or are you saying we have to let them rape someone first? “a 13 year old is not a child” we as a society say 13 is still a child under the eyes of the law. “I am asking purely out of the legal hypothetical. Unless these guys are breaking their parole, they haven't committed a crime.” Yes they have, it is illegal to contact a minor for the purposes of having sex. We passed the law that says so.

Well it was her brother so of course she is in denial who would want to accept that there brother was a child molestor and that he chose to end his own life. Its easier to place the blame on someone else than accept reality for what it is.

Ralax.....take a few breaths and settle down. It'll be OK. He's gone now. No point in getting so worked up about something that will never change. It might be be a good idea (for your blood pressure) if you just ignored his sister when she's on TV.

Well she obviously loves her brother and is in denial. It is so scary to know that anyone can be a predator and you wouldn't even know it! So disturbing!

Family members usually seem to be in denial about any crimes their loved ones commit----I can't understand it.
Maybe they are trying to excuse themselves for not "controlling" their loved one's actions, or they just over-identify with their relatives.
I don't know why they can't see what's right in front of them--?

I agree these people need to be locked up. But to catch a predator is cruel and unusual. These people will never have any chance of getting their lives back in order after that big of a public humiliation.
They should conduct these stings without putting it on national television and try to rehabilitate.
