Tennessee, baby! The people are friendlier, there is more to do, there is more interesting Civil War Heritage, the state is much prettier (Natchez Trace, Smokies, etc.,) it has a more mellow atmosphere, and the food is SOOO good! Nashville is booming, Memphis is unique, and "Rocky Top" is a cool song! There are also some great universities there (UT, Vandy, U. of South, Belmont, etc.)

Kentucky, for it to be so economically and educationally dismal, is very snooty and thinks it is "special." As for the small towns, they are not welcoming to outsiders at all. The horse farms are beautiful. But, the eastern KY mountains are not pretty at all after fall foliage; in fact, they are really quite trashy. I lived there--a crappy place! I'd even live in NYC or Cali before KY.

i'm sorry you had undesirable reports, yet KY isn't a foul place. It sounds such as you already made up your techniques approximately which you like extra effectual. I incredibly have lived in Kentucky for 5 years (approximately 40 5 min south of Louisville in the fortress Knox section). I incredibly have been to Louisville on numerous activities and have got here across the human beings there to be very friendly (in spite of the reality which you will meet some impolite human beings in each state and Kentucky isn't any diverse). I incredibly have got here across an abundance of surprising eating places, history, gala's, procuring, etc... The waterfront park as alluring, besides as a carriage holiday via down city. There are wineries and distilleries to flow to (Makers Mark is my admired) besides as numerous Lincoln historic aspects. have heard that jap Kentuckians could be aloof to outsiders (I incredibly have under no circumstances been there to work out for myself), yet this is a fashion of existence you come across in mountain united states, no count what state you're in. The Western portion of Kentucky is eqully staggering. Kentucky Lake is a robust section for outside activities and organic atmosphere. Tennessee is a alluring state besides, and that i appreciate vacationing it. i desire to flow to Nashville and notice the web pages, besides as to Memphis. I additionally does no longer techniques going to work out the alluring mountains and atmosphere close to Chattanooga. each and each State has some thing unique approximately it that makes it worth vacationing.

Tennessee. My people have been there for at least 11,000 years. Part of Kentucky, but not as much as Tennessee. I was born in Tennessee as well, so....

Forget the Civil War heritage, try Cherokee heritage first. That's as Tennessee as it gets.
