Hi Kumo,

I am not religious however, I have a degree in theology and take
an active interest in philosophy.

My conclusion is that God is (above all things) a belief and a paradox to all that we strive to believe and understand about ourselves and the infinite universe that almost defies our own
sense of existence.

Secondly, the God we make reference to, does come in the form of a male who we see depicted and drawn in the bible who has a male sexuality. This is the God that many mortals identify with the most and because we have constructed him into a tangible reality that does make sense to our own humanity. There are a rare few people who believe God to be as I have concluded, and as something other than a humanized character. Some say that God is the universe and some say as the oceans and mirror of our own souls, so he appeals to individual perception too.

Don't know if you are looking for an answer as such, but you did ask and I think I have given a pretty diverse answer and with a philosophical approach.

However, I have found this link that I found really amazing and does offer you a broader answer to your question that is going
to better answer your question.

If there is an existence of anything such as God, then what is
God beyond the definition this identity has been given? You will
have to have the answer to this if you know the answer of the question you first posed.

I have altered my answer from the original one upon reflection but I think this is the perfect answer whether it has validity or not?.

God is an imaginary friend for adults. An Idea of unity and compasion for your fellow man. The Lessons learned in chistianity are contadictary and confusing. But the main idea stays the same "Make The World A Better Place".

God is an explanation for existence. By the way, philosophers are 'trapped' by both religion and science. Man is natural man. No body said humans perfect, but humans perfect'.

You don't want recycled things that you have been told but you tell us exactly what you want to hear?
"First of all, god is not he nor she nor it, God is every one of us, and we are all god. Try thinking along those lines, AND NO CONFORMED RELIGION PLEASE< ONLY WHAT YOU THINK< NOT WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN TOLD!!!!"
In trying to think outside of the box, I think you closed the lid. I’m not trying to be crude I kind of agree with you, I’m just saying I don't think you want an answer, I think you want an outlet to say your piece and you want confirmation about it.

"God" is a figure of 70% of the world's population's imagination.
or more.
maybe more than 70%, i personally do not know the number of Catholics to the number of humans

God is hope for the hopless
people who can't believe in their self but need something that does not exist to help them.
Who knows, God may actually exist, but how does he help us?
So far, as i read into the Bible at my religion class in school i realize the God doesn't do anything but sit on his "throne" or golden palace.
It is actually the PEOPLE'S beliefs and their own will power that lets them become uncrippled, un blind, not lame anymore.
The power of God is the hope which people cannot find within themselves but needs to waste hours of days praying and going to sermons to attempt to try to find their own strength

God???
God is he who created me you and everyone around us. God knows everything, see's everything and is everywhere at once.
God is a spirit , he is the father the son and the holy spirit. god can be anything and anyone you want him to be, but the truth at least for believers is that God is not a religion but is something REAL!!!! which you decide to believe or not believe , follow or not, for he is LOVE and if you can't decifer a between who and what is GOD, than you are being fooled.

i'm not religous as such but i believe if you want to believe there is a god it should be up to the individual to decide who they believe is god and have faith in themselves not have it rammed down thier throats by someone who believes in a book written 2000 years ago.god is an ideal,it,s a way of life,it,s what you believe and attain to not what someone else says.of course i could add a lot more but this is a simplistic way of looking at it.one thing is for sure though i wouldn't condone the slaughter of millions of ppl in the name of any god,or idol,or faith?

God- A supposed higher being that neither lives or breaths, has no proof of existence, Ravid Serial killer of all kinds, and will supposedly send you to hell if you don't believe in it <==(I guess I'll be there, or that's what my family says, lol)

oh, well looky-looky, a question i specialize in :](i'm majoring in religous beliefs)

anyways, to some(as myself) GOD IS LOVE, God is the Father, the whole and only creater of Heaven and Earth, of everything you see EVERYWHERE. To me, without God, there is nothing. we wouldn't evne be here. this is my standpoint

to some, who are not so religous, He may be a role-model, good to everyone, but demands love in return.

this is a VERY controversial question. in class, i can take NO bias, but in my private life, he is the ONE, the ONLY, my SAVIOUR(some may say Jesus is the Saviour, or messiah, but they are One, yet Two, i know, what a paradox)
