Just ask for no or light ice.
At Panera (where I work) we put one scoop (about 1/5 the cup) of ice in then fill it up with lemonade or green tea. Lots of people ask for no ice and its actually easier for me that way because I don't have to get the ice.
I hate when there is all ice because its gone in just a few sips!
Bring the ice cup back up to the counter and ask for a refill because you got so much ice.

How do you think they make a profit from the sale?
By loading up the cup with ice,you get less to drink and they have more to sell before they have to buy more.
You can always ask for little or no ice and since some places now have serve your self drink dispensers, you can fix your drink with as much or little ice you desire.

Just ask them to be easy on the ice and they'll only put a little bit of ice in the pop.

It sure does, I ask for no ice in the cup and then get a few cubes on the side.

Go to Mc Donalds. Their automatic beverage System (ABS) does not put that much ice in the cups for the drive-thru...at least the one I where I work is like that.

OMG I hate that, I just always ask for little ice, and it usually comes up with the perfect amount of ice.

Yeah, I always ask them to put the pop in first!!! then there isnt much room for the ice anyway!!! haha. They do it to save money and cut costs, I used to work in one and when i was a trainee they told us to put as much ice in as we could get away with!!!!

it doesn't annoy me because i know as a consumer that i have the right to have things the way i want them or i don't have to buy them, and you if you don't like much ice just tell them light on the ice please, and they will do it for you, but generally speaking if you go inside to order you have to put your own ice into your own cup, so there is no need to be annoyed, you have the power in your own hands!
