my sister is pregnant and is trying to think up some different spanish names. any suggestions? don't want anything common. for boys and girls (she doesn't know the sex yet).

For a boy: Álvaro
For a girl: Valeria or Julieta (J pronounced like an H)

By the way, most Spanish names don't sound very good with an American accent, in my opinion. There are some that aren't as bad though, like Raquel, Elena, Carlos but these are more common.

Girls:Alicia is spanish for Alice, Mercedes is spanish for Mersadies, there is Carmen. Boys:Julio is spanish for July Antonio is spanish for Anthony, Pepe, Juan, Carlos,Sisco,Fransisco. you can also go to google and go to what does your name mean and you will see baby names go there and see if you can find spanish names.
