Older, but not old enough to grow up with the Beatles. Still I would choose them. I love reading Harry Potter and I'm glad it's moved so many people to read and enjoy his life and trials. But the Beatles made an impact that changed music. They kind of kicked things up a notch. (I hate using cliches, but my brain is on hiatus.)

Harry Potter hasn't changed the face of literature - there have been fantasies and fantasy series (though it is darker than most for the younger readers.) Of course literature has a much longer timeline than rock and roll - the Beatles were something new - the phenomena was something that hadn't really been seen for the most part. And they weren't a fad...their music and influence is still strong.

You can't seriously mention the Beatles in the same question as harry Potter. There is no impact on the world at all from the over rated Harry potter , the only impact has been on Rowling's empty purse.

That is a tough question to answer. The Beatles have been around longer and their music is highly identifiable, while Harry Potter might still be outside the general conscious of some people. We'll have to wait and see. If in 30 or 40 years Harry Potter is still being discussed in the same way it is today, then I'll say it's a tie.

I think it's too early to tell. The Beatles have shown to have surpassed time so far, and as for Harry Potter the 7th book hasn't even been released yet.

But then again, Harry Potter got millions of kids around the world who didn't want to read at first, to read. The Beatles didn't XD

Although Harry Potter spawned a lot of never before readers (for fun), the beatles had a huge impact on so many levels. It paved the way for music you probably listen to today, fashion changed forever, among other things.
I'm 27 by the way.

The Beatles. They're actually real; well, the ones still living, although John and George have left decent legacies.
